What does a wooden kitchen cost?

The price of new kitchen doors varies depending on the size of the kitchen, the type of wood, and whether you choose solid hardwood, with a pine core, or wood veneer. Many of our customers want to upgrade their kitchen without replacing the frames. By keeping existing frames and instead replacing kitchen doors, you can create a completely new kitchen at a significantly lower cost than a complete kitchen replacement.

At Indoor Wood, we manufacture custom-made kitchen doors, and you can choose between:

  • Wood structure: wood veneer with an MDF core, solid hardwood with a solid pine core, or solid hardwood (not pine)
  • Choice of hardwood: walnut, oak, and ash in various colors, and also custom stain shades.

Typical projects for our customers:

  • Replacement of kitchen doors in wood veneer: approx. SEK 17,000 – 55,000
  • Kitchen doors in hardwood with a pine core: approx. SEK 30,000 – 114,000

Below are price examples based on typical projects – from smaller kitchens to larger kitchen solutions. The prices refer to fronts and provide a realistic picture of what a kitchen project might cost.

To get a more accurate estimate, you can use our kitchen calculator to calculate the price based on your own kitchen.

Custom-made wooden fronts for kitchens

Wood structures

We offer fronts with 3 different constructions, these can advantageously be combined to save money. All fronts are 20 mm thick.

100% wood, hardwood with pine core

3 mm hardwood on front and back, choose between walnut, oak, or ash. The core consists of a framework of solid hardwood with a solid pine core (pine never visible). Can be sanded.

wood veneer

Approx. 0.5 mm wood veneer of precious wood (walnut, oak or ash). Core of MDF, pine lamellas and honeycomb paper. Cannot be sanded.

Solid hardwood

When you want solid hardwood through and through. Cross-laminated hardwood in 3 layers, for strength (a completely solid door without cross-lamination will warp over time). 100% walnut, oak or ash. Can be sanded.

Before/after

A worn-out Myresjö kitchen in Stockholm gets new walnut fronts with a pine core, as well as an acoustic panel with wide walnut slats. Carcasses, countertops, and appliances were retained.

Hardwood with pine core - 100% wood, strong construction

A technologically advanced solution where massive hardwood and strong pine are combined for stability and affordability.

  • 20 mm thick doors/drawers/fronts
  • Cross-laminated construction in 100% wood for optimal rigidity
  • Surface layer in selected hardwood, 3 mm on front and back
  • The middle part, a 14 mm thick section consisting of a core of solid pine surrounded by a framework of staves in your chosen hardwood (walnut, oak, ash)
  • Much better strength than a one-piece solid wood door

Cross-lamination increases strength, rigidity, and stability. Wood naturally moves in the direction of the grain due to changes in moisture. By gluing the layers crosswise with alternating grain directions, the wood's movement is restricted, which reduces swelling, shrinkage, and warping.

Solid walnut, ash, or oak kitchen

An uncompromising choice for those who want the best.

  • 100% walnut, oak, or ash
  • No MDF, no pine
  • 3-layers of cross-laminated hardwood for optimal stability
  • Maximum weight and depth
  • A very exclusive wooden kitchen for generations

Wood veneer - stable and affordable

A popular choice for those who want oak, ash, or walnut wooden kitchens with high dimensional stability.

  • Perfect to combine with our wooden doors for large end panels, plinths, cornices, etc. However, it should not be combined side-by-side as solid wood and wood veneer can age differently.
  • Genuine wood veneer, approx. 0.5 mm thick
  • MDF core that minimizes movement
  • Perfect for flat doors
  • A cost-effective custom-made wooden kitchen
